Discounted Access to Professional Services

Charities are benefiting from up to 85% off freelance professional skills and services through a new online service by people4charity.com.

People4charity, powered by people4business, is a unique service: offering specialist skills to charities at a significant discount. Sellers of professional services on people4business can select a special ‘charity rate’, which is available only to registered charities, via people4charity.com.

There are over 7000 professional sellers on the database of who offer discounts of between five and 85 per cent, with an average of 15 per cent.

Sectors covered include administration, education and research, finance and accounting, human resources, IT and internet, training and development, legal services, management consultancy, marketing and PR and property and construction.

Registration is free for workers who advertise their rates, availability and charity discounts from a personal home page. Registered charities can search for candidates by sector, skills, track-record, location and price, before the two parties deal direct so they can agree project scope and contract terms. The site earns revenue by applying a fixed 10% commission to the seller’s chosen rate, but then returns five per cent of its profits to the voluntary sector.

Emma Wood, manager of people4charity, said: “Charities often need the support of professionals for projects just like commercial organisations, but what they also want is complete price transparency and, where possible, support from people who share their values.” To register your charity visit www.people4charity.com
