12th May 2008 - Adele Blakebrough to step down as CAN CEO
Adele Blakebrough, the award-winning social entrepreneur and co-founder of CAN, is to step down as CEO in September. She will be replaced by Andrew Croft, Director of CAN Mezzanine, the social enterprise providing high quality, affordable office space for the Third Sector.

17th January 2008 - CAN Mezzanine welcomes 100th customer
CAN Mezzanine, the award-winning social enterprise that provides office space to the Third Sector, welcomes its 100th customer, Four Paws UK. The European animal welfare charity joined other third sector organisations in CAN Mezzanine’s Loman Street office in early January 2008.

Former Merrill Lynch equity analyst Denise Holle has joined leading UK social enterprise CAN to head up Breakthrough, its pioneering social investment fund co-founded with the private equity firm Permira. Breakthrough invests growth capital and management expertise in established social enterprises to help them scale up their social impact.

CAN Mezzanine, the social enterprise providing serviced-office space to charities and social enterprises, saves the Third Sector in excess of £2.2m every year, according to independent social impact findings.
29th October 2007 - Breakthrough Tackling Social Enterprises' Struggle to Scale-up
Most social enterprises will struggle to scale-up from start-up stage, according to the findings of the Breakthrough initiative, a pioneering two-year social investment programme set-up and run by CAN and Permira. Launched in 2005, the initiative is designed to tackle the financial and management challenges inhibiting the growth of Social Enterprise.
