Roles and Responsibilities:

As part-time Finance Director, Hazel is responsible for ensuring that CAN has an efficient and robust accounting and reporting structure to enable the Executive team and Trustees to make informed decisions. Hazel also works closely with CAN's banks and development partners and her key responsibility is to make sure that maximum value is extracted from the work CAN does, so that benefits can be passed on to CAN's customers and partners in the Sector.

Career background:

After completing her professional training at Ernst and Young, Hazel worked at BSkyB in group reporting, before moving within Newscorporation to New York where she was responsible for monitoring and evaluating investments. Since returning from New York, Hazel has worked for Cagney Plc, putting in place a streamlined cash and profit reporting system, before joining CAN where she is delighted to have the opportunity to be involved in the Third Sector. Hazel is also currently Treasurer for a community based local charity.

Professional qualifications:

Hazel is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and holds a BSc Honours in Economics and Business Economics from Southampton University.
